Covid-19 Recount

Hello, I know you have been begging me to tell you about my childhood, so here is one thing that I think you would be very interested in, especially you Frankie.

Back in 2020 when I was only 10, there was an outbreak of a disease called Covid-19 more commonly known as coronavirus. It  started in China in a place called Wuhan.

In China, it was starting to get under control, but then one person who had Covid-19 without realising it, went overseas and without realising it spread it  to another person and that person spread it to another person and so on.

The countries that were most affected by it were Spain and Italy but leading the way was definitely the USA with over 100,000 cases and deaths a day.

Our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern didn’t let that happen. We were quick to close the borders which meant that no cases could get into the country. Closing the borders quickly decreased the number of cases, but we were still getting more cases than we wanted so we went into level 4 lockdown.

Level 4 lockdown was the strictest of the levels .  We couldn’t go to friends houses and everything was closed except essential services which were basically doctors, hospitals and supermarkets. We had to stay 2 metres apart, except from people in your bubble (your immediate family). Only one person from your family could go into a shop at a time (not that there were any open of course) and if there were too many people inside other people who wanted to get in had to wait outside in a line.

Eventually we got down to no new cases for 2 days and we got to go down to level 3 which was a little different but mainly the same. More than one person could go into a shop at a time and people were starting to prepare to reopen their businesses.

That is all that I have got time for today. Remember that I love you and I will see you next week.

My cheerful avatar

This is my avatar. It represents me because I have shortish blonde hair and blue eyes. I also have a jacket like this (but blue.) My favourite headband is one exactly the same but it's not pink it's  purple.(glad it's not blue?) I really like wearing this type and colour of pants with the jacket.

Tangrams

THIS IS MY FAVOURITE TANGRAM SHAPE

This is my tangram shape that I made. We had to make and take photos of them and send those photos to ourselves. We had to make our favourite shape and stick it into our maths book.
We started off with seven pieces in a square and we had to colour them in. I made three different cats but this is my favourite out of the three.

Cross country

I heard Mr Miller yelling Go, and we were off. I saw people passing me at the start of the race. I felt the wind blowing against my face. Further along the track, I heard somebody jogging behind me, they soon passed me and I didn't see who it was. I saw the race leader about fifty metres in front of me, with second place forty metres and third place only thirty metres away. I wonder what place I'll come this year. Closer and closer to the finish line we get. A minute or two later we leap over the ditch,
jog through the trees, jump over the balancing beam and sprint to the finish line coming sixth with Alexia in seventh.

My Emoji Story

Once upon a time there was a penguin that ate an ice cream and then a woman got a massage from one of the zookeepers. In a couple of days that woman was going to have a baby. Finally the day came and she had to go in an ambulance to the hospital, soon she got to go home to her house with the red door. In a few years she had to go on a train because she wanted to go on holiday. On the way to the train station she stopped at her sisters farm to buy some apples, to eat on the train. When she got to the hotel it was 10 pm, so she went straight to bed. During the night she woke up and saw a ghost. That morning she had pizza for breakfast, then she went to the zoo and saw whale. Then she had to go to the toilet and after, she went to the snake room and saw a mouse so she got very unhappy so she asked if she could put up a no biking sign and that was a couple of years after she had the baby witch was a boy. Soon she had to go back home so she could go to the fair and see the magician. after she went to the fair she went home and picked up her son so she could teach him how to
These are the emojis that I am making the story from

My walk at Nanas

"I'm going for a walk now Nana." I said as I put my socks on. Two minutes later, I was walking up the concrete towards the gate, that leads up to the hill. I'm going to go around to the tank first. Then I'll go and see if there's a way to get into the gorse." Crunch! Crunch! Crunch! went the sticks as I walked over them.

My Fears

I am scared of waves in the lake because I think there is going to be a tsunami.
I am afraid of boats going faster than 30 kilometres an hour because I think I am going to fall out. I am scared of big spiders because I think they are going to bite me.

Peace Week Art

This is my Peace Week Art.
To make it I had to draw a cube in pencil. Then when I had the cube shape, I had to start drawing peace signs in pencil. When I finished that I had to write a peace slogan. Then once I finished the slogan I had to colour in the peace signs. I finished the colouring and moved on to the vivid

Dangerous way to get to school

I took a deep breath and walked towards the dangerous ladder. It was a long, long way up and it was raining last night. "Oww whats in my bag?" I was now half way up the ladder and my bag was getting heavy. "WATCH OUT" my friend called from above me. I looked up and saw my friend falling. "She's not going to make it to school today" I thought when I got to the top.

Holiday memoir

"This view is amazing" I said. Me, Mum and Dad were standing at the top of the hill at my Nana's  house. Ping! went the fence as a rabbit jumped through from the neighbour's property. " Lets go and sit on the rocks" Mum said. We went over to the and Me and Mum sat on the rocks but Dad thought that if he sat down he wouldn't be able to get back up so he just went and looked at where the firewood he needed to cut up and bring down to the house. now its time to go back down, and I'm feeling great
